Our Philosophy
At The O’Connell Group Behavioral Consulting, we believe that high-quality behavior support should feel sustainable, personalized, and respectful. Not overwhelming or driven by quotas.
Unlike many large agencies that prioritize the maximum number of billable hours, we take a family-centered approach that values your time, your voice, and your child’s unique needs. Every service we offer is thoughtfully designed to fit your life, not the other way around.
We’re not here to fill schedules; we’re here to build skills, strengthen relationships, and create real, lasting change. That means being honest about what is clinically necessary, what is developmentally appropriate, and what will best support your child and family over time.
You can expect transparency, collaboration, and a level of care that always puts people before paperwork.

Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)
We provide components of Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) focused on behavior, functional skills, and transition planning. These evaluations are conducted when families or school districts request an impartial, expert perspective to better understand a student’s needs and to support appropriate educational programming.
Our evaluations are comprehensive, strengths-oriented, and collaborative, combining record review, observation, interviews, and assessment tools to generate clear, individualized, and actionable recommendations.
Specialized IEE areas include:
Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) review and development
Transition assessments (ages 12–22+)
Program and placement recommendations
Collaborative family and school team feedback
We are pleased to accept state-approved public rates for IEEs and are happy to coordinate directly with school districts regarding payment and contracting.
